Hi all,
Are there any recommended materials/kits for this (inside the doors), or is it just double sided tape and some builders plastic, as I seem to read about?

If you mean the plastic behind the door cards, I bought door liners from Newton Commercial, pre cut and all holes punched out for door handles/screws etc. Much easier than fiddling about cutting plastic yourself

I made my own from plastic sheeting that covered a new mattress when it was delivered. Provided it is reasonably heavy duty and it is sealed all the way around it will work fine. I have used double sided tape and silicon bath sealer (a bit messy) before on other cars with perfect results.

I purchased this thick plastic for mine and can confirm it is good quality and does the job.
Stuck it with some industrial double sided tape. Hope this helps.
