Driving along today at 70mph and it was showing 68mph, not bad accuracy, I always thought they were more out than that.

So when I have been doing 90 it probably was nearly 90

1.9 DG :ok

Hmmm, had it on for three hours today and no speed indicator, I’ll go find a update .....
never could understand why it didn’t have a speed readout , yet it tells you limits ( often incorrectly )

I have started to use Waze, it tells you so much more, speed which changes colour when you exceed limit, traffic problems potholes road works and much more. If you download the maps it updates the maps weekly and all notifications are live

i used waze when it first came out, clocked up over 16000 miles using it , but it became unreliable in the city centres finding addresses ( i was using it for work) and i went back to TomTom which i mostly use . however i have a unupdateable version of TomTom so i sometimes use google or apple maps to get the traffic updated info if im travelling on a route that is likley to be congested, other than that i use TomTom

i still have waze, but its has too much clutter these days and user updates were questionable to say the least . ill give it another go , but its no good if the mobiledata is patchy , like in the wilds of norfolk

If you download the maps first you only need GPS and mobile data for up to date warnings. The maps update monthly. This means you use very little data alowance.

Anyway back to google maps and it works just fine.

My 07 plate polo is 5 mph under on speedo at 70mph, I expected an old van to be less accurate.

It does mean I'm now driving 5mph faster on the motorway

The amount of data is no worry , I’ve got unlimited data , the point is if there is no signal it function.

I think you will find all car speedometers read at least 5mph over the true speed. Age has nothing to do with it .

Anyway I’m still waiting for a update to google maps to get the speed indicator

Steve. Download google offline maps and navigation from the playstore that has speed indicator on it.
