Fine-tuning the autochoke on a Pierburg 2e3

Hi folks. My DG engine tends to cut out at idle speeds for the few mins between choke coming off and the engine getting up to working temperature. It's not a major deal but I want to tune the auto-choke on my 2e3 to keep the choke on a bit longer. I believe I do this by unscrewing the 3 screws on the bi-metal choke thermostat housing and rotating it. My question is which direction do I rotate it to hold keep the choke on longer? Should I rotate it clockwise or counter-clockwise when viewed from the drivers side/back of the housing?

While your here and talking Choke, How does your Flap look

What I mean is, Mine isn't vertical when off, never has been, and Van pulls very well, but always smells rich. Just wondering
if the slight tilt backwards is the norm or if a bit of tinkarage is required...
