1.6 JX Timing

Hi all,
I'm after a bit advice again please folks.
I've just finished off putting the ancillaries back on my 1.6 JX and refitting the cam belt. I cannot find any timing marks on the crank pulley, fly wheel or pressure plate at all. Cam shaft is set to tdc and fuel pump is refitted, locked and ready for timing but not sure how to accurately locate tdc on the crank shaft. Any advice would be well appreciated.

Thanks,
Chappers.

Thanks folks.

I had searched the site and found the old post regarding this but couldn't find the marks on my own fly wheel.
I have another closer look.

Cheers,

Pressure plate not flywheel! See pic - its the notch not the lugs.

It is difficult to see the flywheel and I have never seen a mark on it whilst timing. See https://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic. ... k#p8194120

There’s a zero on the flywheel, it’s very difficult to see even if you know it’s there, have you got the injectors out ?

But you can't see the flywheel through the inspection hole if all your plastic insert is in place. No point looking for a mark when you have the notch very easily identifiable.
