£108 + Vat for this module

Is this the same part of "Euro Car parts" site ?

And again on GSF ?

Part Number Description Fitment Price(£) Quantity Delete
92535 IGNITION CONTROL UNIT T25 5/79 > 11/90 28.50 1 Delete
TOTAL £ 28.50

If I'm barking up the wrong tree then how much should I expect to be charged for this module ?

If I have been severely overcharged then a visit to the offending garage will take place and fists might fly :x

Kinell!
I think they saw you coming. Are you sure you didn't buy other parts as well and forgot to pick them up?

Take it back and get your dosh back, you could buy three new ones for that price.

If they only supplyed the above mentioned ignition module for that price and no other work(as in diagnosis and fitting of the unit) then u have paid about 8 to 10 times its true value.(second hand)

Just to clarify....

The part itself was £108 + VAT

I was charged 1 Hours labour at £32 + VAT

No mention of any other work, the fault wasn't diagnosed, he bluntly put it forward as "It's usually this that needs replaced when you've got that problem" In other words he's already clutching at straws.

I don't mind the trial and error stuff that sometimes needs to be done but being charged £108 for a £30 part is not fukcing on :x

I'm going to be paying him a visit with a calm level headed approach.

2 print-outs........... 1 from GSF's site and 1 from Euro car parts.

2 minutes in I'll no doubt have lost it and I'll more than likely be calling him everything under the sun , I'll also make sure if we don't come to some sort of agreement/refund that I'll do my damnedness to name and shame the fukcer throughout the whole town.

I work for the BP who employ a hell of a lot of his customer base as his garage is right next to the Grangemouth complex. I'll make sure he realises the power of emails within the entire workplace.

I'm not one for confrontations nowadays, I'm in my mellows 30's
But I'm too proud to just let it get swepped under the carpet without a good go at resolving the situation.

I'll keep you all posted :)

You may be steaming at this moment as any one would be but 'calm is the name of the game to get anywhere with this tosser.

As you have mentioned others from your company pay for his bread and butter,,,just remind him NOT to bite the hand that feeds him.
