Hi,
So I have finally got a new set of carbs with empi inlet manifolds for my CU engine. How the *** do I get the lower bolts tightened up. I thought I had a long thin socket but apparently it’s not long and thin enough.

Box spanners for me on jobs like that. You can always extend them with another suitable one or socket to use a torque wrench on them.

You can buy m8 nuts with reduced socket size across the flats like these.

I actually went one step further on my air cooled and used an allen key barrel nut like these.

Thank you both.
Some allen key bolts are already in the post.
As always this forum is the solution to all the really important problems :D :D :D

Good stuff, you may want some nice thick washers depending on the length of your studs but you’ll work that out once you have them.

Oh yes. One manifold is original and has short studs one is a replacement has has annoying long ones!
