Jx engine vibration on tickiver

Hi just a quick one, just installed a recon jx in my van, starts, runs pulls excellent little engine, on tickover it shakes the van it’s got new engine and gearbox mounts, smooth as you like when running, if I wind the tickover up it sort of goes away but is obviously running to fast, what rpm do these engines run at in tick-over it had a 1y in previously and didn’t vibrate on tick over although it was shot.

Have you tried reducing the tick over speed( a bit )?

Slowing it down makes it worse if anything

Hi Jaber,

I'm not familiar with the JX as I have a DG, but mine was a shaker at tick over until I had a go at the timing and cleaned the dizzy and replaced the vac
advance unit, nice and smooth now. If this helps

Regards

M

diabolov might have a point, does pulling the cold start lever out help?
Do you have big bubbles in the feed and return pipes going to the injection pump?
Did you fit the engine?

Yes I fit the engine, no air in lines etc, the engine had done about 4K when I put it in and is sweet as a nut, every mounting is new inc exhaust, can’t see any cold start lever on the pump anywhere, found a post on the google machine where folks had same problem, one answer was to change injector pipes? The guy who had the engine rebuilt apparently had bigger injectors fitted wether that’s the issue?

Mine vibrates around 1250 rpm and has done for the last 12 years,in that time the engine has been replaced twice ( now a sb engine)
My feeling is that it's a problem with the injection pump...
You could altering the timing a bit( advance it a bit?)
Good luck,Baz.
