Steering rack near side boot MOT fail

Hi All,
So our Holdsworth villa failed the mot the other day - the tester actually apologised! He said the rest of the van is fine.
I will get the work done by the Indi garage who tested it. It seems a good idea to get new boots on both sides, although the tester said they could just replace the failed (split) one.
What do people think? Should anything else be done / replaced while they have it in bits?
Thanks
H

they are both the same age one would assume, so makes sense to do both imho

Thanks Mocki.
I wondered about bushes, that sort of thing, as well.
Thanks

I was told aftermarket boots were rubbish and don't last, lots of rubber products are not not fit for purpose often crumbling in a year.
so you might consider
A) getting the highest quality you can.
B) a second hand original
C) only doing the one side

Thanks Itchy, only just seen your post.
I had the pair replaced, as the other (non failed one) was 'passable' but not in the first flush of youth.
Regards, H.
