I have a 1983 Karisma conversion and it started life as a panel van, bulgy window rubbers and no pre drilled satbelt mounting points in the rear.
I want to put a three point rear belt in but don't know where to put the holes, and if they need reinforcing with a plate and bolting , or a plate welding on or what.
Can anyone advise please ?

I did mine last year , i put a 3 point in and a lap belt , i reinforced every bolt down point just incase
there is a diagram kicking about somewhere showing the points , matt has posted it a couple of time , is it on the wiki

Nope, nothing on wiki.
What you describe sounds like just what I need.
I already have put lap belts in with reinforced bolt plates, just need to know where to put the hole in the side at the back.
Is it on the piece of metal that can be seen behind the rear vents ?
Need to strap the spots in place

yup ..
and then either up in the t'other side from the air intake / battery tray if its a diesel in the engine bay , or make a long plate with two holes in it , one for the mec ,one for the shoulder fitting , and the other through the fire wall ( like the lappie one)

theres a diagram some where .. PM matt he has/had one im sure of it , really should be on the wiki (i think anyway)

One of the lap belts has a low mounting point near the window side of the seat, sort of under the seat.
Would that work as the lower mounting point of the three point reel? with the top anchor point for the reel going behind the air vent ?
The clip for the existing lap belt on that side could still be used I guess .

if /when u come down to Leicester, i,ll show u on my van ive got three point seat belts. as ive just stripped out the interior can have a better look,

i wouldnt mount more than one belt to a mounting site

explain more , how many belts are you wanting and what do you all really ?

I meant:
Take one lap belt out that is mounted with a hole near the window side, under the seat.
Use that hole as the lower mounting point for the three point belt.
Leave the button catch end from the lap belt and use that as the catch for the three point.
Put a new hole for the top of the three point, behind the air vent.

Is that still as clear as mud ?

yup that make sence and i would say yes should be cool ... just make sure that the male fits the female if your getting the belts from a scrappers

No, I would buy the kit from JustKampers like you said, don't want to risk a secondhand one.
This is good about the existing holes because it means I only have to put in one new hole and the respective reinforcing plate.
In theory anyway.
Meanwhile, anyone know where to get my rear Cv joints done at a reasonable price ?

its not a hard job the CV , get a good replace from Mcgill or Cj , 12 bolts/hexie bolts and ya done either side that is

It looked easy in the book.
I tried to turn some of the hex bolts to see if they were tight and quite a few of them had been animaled into a rounded non hex shape by some previous gorilla
So, maybe it's a job for someone with a garage and a lift rather than me squirming around on the rodside and bashing knuckles.
Perhaps in the spring when it's dry and warm, perhaps.
