Don’t know why I am surprised but....
Horn not working, was working before the van was laid up for works...
Not sure what or why the PO added his own special wiring, photo attached..
Testing the earth, seems ok..
Will test the horn separately, could very well be that..

Right, you have the wiring diagram so it's current track 102-103, take a look
The black wire should be brown / blue, but hey, the most important is that has 12v when the ignition is on (our old friend terminal 15)
Put that spade to earth and the horn should sound.
The steering column is not the proper earth - earth point 23 as in the wiring diagram, somewhere near the steering rack, I don't physically know.
This'll be a doodle for you now

Cheers..!!
Got dragged off to do some other non important stuff for the OH..
Will take a look later..
The column earth is in place..
There was 12v to the horn..
Didn’t try just earthing the 12v supply to the horn button..
Thanks for your confidence in my electrical capabilities..,

The plot thickens
So, have 12v at the horn switch on the wheel.
There is continuity from the earth side of the horn switch to earth, and the lower column connector.
If I operate the horn switch I can hear the horn trying to operate..almost like a relay thud.
If I manually earth the horn, at the horn end it works fully..
Should I try putting the 12v at the horn switch directly to earth?

Just re read the earlier post...
If I earth the live wire to the horn switch I get sparks but no more..
Looks like the horn has had it??

Scrub that
If I connect a 12v to the horn direct works fine
Back to dodgy connections

So managed to get it working..
Went through every connection and cleaned and recrimped where needed..
Then it worked..
Moral of the story... always do the simple stuff first...!!!!!!

See, I was sure you would sort this out.

Had the same thing the other week....lots of cleaned connections, new fuse, new horn later and we're back up and running. Funny old things these old vans
