Fitting ARB Awning from CVC

Hi all - I just got an ARB awning with the T25 brackets supplied by CampervanCulture.
I’m having real problems getting the brackets to sit correctly on the gutter.
The weight of the awning seems to always pull the bracket so that it hits the gutter edge (rather than sits more vertically on the gutter)
The pic below isn’t great but hopefully you can see that the bracket has slipped so that it is resting against the gutter edge;
Has anyone else fitted these brackets? A) Have I got the bracket installed correctly B) is there some trick to getting it to not slip down as soon as the awning weight is added?
Cheers for any help.

Here’s mine it was fitted by Jed so must be right! Been on 2 years now not a problem. Used to worry about the gutter when it was out in wind but stopped when I realised the aluminium poles on the awning will give up long before the gutter.

Mmm - so have I fitted that back plate upside-down? It really didn't seem like it would fit that way but maybe I am just losing it?

How can you fit it upside down? Won't fitting upside down mean the bolt would foul on the gutter?
The shape and angles of the brackets doesn't give a very snug look to the fit!

My confusing language - I meant the bracket circled in blue might be upside down;

Does your bracket rest against the gutter edge?
The below is on the CVC website and is the cause of my concern:
“
The part of the bracket that sits under the rain gutter needs to be as close to the vans bodywork as possible before you tighten the nut on the bracket. This insures that the awning will sit in the correct position and not just be attached by hanging on the edge of the rain gutter. ”

Not sure now, I’ll go and check when it stops raining and I can get away from work for 5mins. As I said Jed from CVC fitted mine the same as it was fitted on his van so would like to think it’s how it’s supposed to be, but I’ll check. It’s been on two years now so if there was a problem I would have seen it by now I would hope?

Finally stopped raining! The bracket does touch the gutter edge just like in the diagram Mocki provided. It’s solid enough for me to hang off I’m 13stone. Just eyed down the gutter edge and it’s exactly the same as the other side. So definitely no damage after two years.

Really appreciate you checking (and braving the weather!!)
Maybe I’m worrying about nothing then - I’ve got an email into CVC to ask the question (or maybe they’ll see this post) but perhaps it all OK and should just sit back, relax and have a beer?!!

No worries,I’d say crack on and have a beer

the ARB has been great for us, saved many a bbq when the weather has turned. Seems to handle wind well when the poles and guide ropes are pegged out and not used with a side piece.
We bought a side for it and tbh the only time we used we had a gust of wind which caught the side like a sail and bent the pole it was attached to

hence knowing that the pole will give long before the gutter! Still goes away thankfully and I guess makes ours unique until we buy a new pole!
