Hi , here's the pictureof the M plate off my van . Please can anyone work out the date of production from the info on it. I have a previous post about the same subject and got some brilliant answers thank you but can't seem to put this up on there.

Week 45 day 5, iirc VW weeks starts Sunday nightshift so 9 or 10 November
Brilliant orange with Van Dyck brown interior, cloth instead of leatherette, 3 point seat belts in front and Lack of name plate on A pillar - standard extras for year and country, standard manual gearbox
originally built as a RHD Type 2 Panel Van (probably for camper conversion as uses Kombi shell) with CT 1600 air cooled engine

So now we'll hopefully find out if the OP writes a letter to DVLA based on the manufacturing date and succeeds, or if he wants someone else to do all the work for him. All the information to decode the M-plate was in the other thread and the OP could have deduced this for himself and given something back by posting what they thought.
Still, nice to know that my date estimate from the VIN number was correct, thanks Aidan

Hi Thanks guys for all your help. So am i correct in saying its a nov 80 production van and not a 79. So i can apply for exemptions nov next year 2020. Would just like to give a mention to steve@abvwc who will write a letter confirming the van is historic status and this is reccognised by the DVLA. If you are a member of an affiliated club its price of stamp if not just a small charge.

Hi everyone, back again.I am still trying to find out more information about my van. Been in contact with veg uk to request a letter of conformity. They contacted vw museum in Germany , They seem to think that because my M plate has BH on it that it was made in Brazil and they don't hold any details on it. What would you reccomend I try now .Thanks.

The BH is stamped on the M plate. Someone suggested it could have been produced in Brazil but since been told they never built them there, so may not be of any relevance now.

Hi All,
DVLA accepted my German Army release document in the end (as proof of birth date) - just needed a bit of translation via Google Translate ! Make sure you follow their instructions to the letter.
Am just in the process of importing a T3 from the German Army.
I have the Army release document which contains most of the info requested on the V55/5 but, the guys at DVLA seem mixed in their response to this. I would be very grateful to hear of ?
experiences by others in importing a van and obtaining any necessary info from VW
Thanks,
Steve W
