Hi all, could someone please let me know if the 4 and 5 speed boxes are different in length and by how much. Not for my T25 but for the next trials car build, the buggy has a 4 speed T25 box but the next will have a bit tighter space between the front of the beetle frame fork and the rear body.

if you use a standard 4speed or 5 speed mount they are the same length with mount.

Mounting using custom (home) made brackets into beetle chassis fork, hence query on box casting length to determine the overall overhang from a standard beetle gearbox cradle, so hoping it's only 20-30mm.

144mm floorboards gives you an estimate...

5 speed is roughly 32mm longer than 4 speed over mounting faces

Thanks chaps, I think that will work, gives me a bit more space to design a linkage too.
