Hi All
T25 Water Cooled 1984 Holdsworth Conversion.
Hope all good with everyone, a question please I have a small leak on the exhaust connection onto the exhaust box, I am reluctant to touch the bolts to remove joint in case they may break off and I will then be in big trouble.
Does anyone know of a name of a compound / paste that could be used over the joint which would do the trick and stay in place in this high temperature area. Any advice and suggestions would be welcome and appreciated.
All the best to all Regards
LLoyd

I have successfully used chemical metal, (JB Weld) rather than exhaust compound paste, which only last for a period of time. Wire brush, apply, leave 24 hours to fully harden.

Many Thanks Carrera, can I ask where you got it from, Halfords /Motor Factors ? As I have never heard of this brand up till now, and it seems just the thing.
Thanks for the reply.

I get it from a local car accessory shop - easiest source for you will be ebay

Never though of using that, I guess it would only work on the colder parts of the exhaust.

The slow set stuff is rated to 280 degrees C.
Good enough for a cylinder head on a compressor I fixed

You get a ‘high heat’ version for exhausts.

You mean this one ?

That's rated to the same 450F / 280 C but has lower strength

That’s the one I got I think. Seemed okay. I used it to repair the rim on some alloys but it was a few years back. Which one is the stronger one? Do you have a link? [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
