1.6 TD Westie Club Joker, 1986, black "buzzin' box" under rear seats does not appear to be working.

Have searched wiki but no joy.
Have checked Bently but can't find diagram.
Have done a search on battery charger on forums but can't identify similar problem. :?

Taken box out, removed top, fuse was blown, changed, reconnected and tried again, blew fuse.
Suspect that wiring is incorrectly connected but unsure. I have not heard the box "buzzin'" since I got the van in December, and suspect it has not worked since owning.

Description:
I have a 3 wire connector (vehicle side) that shows voltage when tested (27 to 28 volts) which I think connects to both batteries.

I have another lead with 2 pin connector (vehicle side) that I believe is connected to mains input (shows 240v when tested). This connector is attached to 3 core cable, but one of the wires is trimmed back (the earth lead?) and connects to nothing.

The 3 wire connector appears to be heavier duty cable that the 2 pin connector cable.

On opening the black box, the 2 pin connector is wired into a 1.6v fuse, which then goes through thinner copper coils. The 3 pin connector seems to be wired to the thicker copper coil side.

My request:
Can anyone indicate the correct diagram either on the wiki or in the Bently?
Can anyone shed some light on the problem from my description?

E D I T: Ignor this bit, had a quick check done and it does appear to be connected correctly, all other questions stand. Again from my description, is the beast wired in correctly or (as I suspect), has the wrong connector been attached to the wires, thus applying power to the charger the wrong way round.

Thanks in advance peeps! :D

What page in the Bently have you found the wiring diagram for the BBB?

Hi John, :)
No, thats the prob, I can't find any mention of it in the Bently or the wiki.
Today I got a chap from Parkinsons (elec motor type guys) to take a look. He couldn't touch it (cos its mains voltage, not licenced for that) but did say that the 3 core connector is the output, and the 2 pin connector the input. He has given me an address for someone else who may be able to help, but I found it odd that the mains input don't seem to have an earth? Weird :?

I am up for any guidance on this one, a replacement could prove expensive :(
