Hi had my van on the road for 9 months now it's a diesel with a 5 speed gearbox and over that time I've noticed when the van is cold it's hard to get into 2nd Gear all other gears are fine but when it's warmed up it goes in to all gears fine is this common with these vans I have paper work to say the gearbox was reconditioned in 2001

Mine was always the same until I learnt to put it in and out of 2nd several times before setting off - made all the difference. Posted this for someone else who was having the same and it solved it for him too. Worth a try.
I don't know the mechanics of it but maybe it lubricates parts that have lost lube sitting still for a while.

Ok thanks will give it a try in the morning and has for lubrication you may have a point because it was stood for approximately 3 years will try and get under it when I'm off work next.

Sounds like a linkage problem try cleaning up, lubing and or renewing your gear linkage

Tried the trick of putting in and out several times but that didn't work so it's down to strip down lubrication when I have the time thanks for the advice boys
