Header tank not drawing from top up

In Cornwall at the mo. After every long drive the header tank is depleted but top up is over filling. It looks like coolant is being pushed out when hot but not being drawn in as it cools. I can’t find any leaks at all. Any ideas on what’s going on?

Only takes a pin prick hole in the hose to allow air in as it tries to suck it back, wouldn't necessarily show any weepage - same as fuel lines draining back.

Thank/ As usual correct advice. Driving home a water hose split underneath must have had a small hole already. The pipe split near the end so could be trimmed and got me home.
Left Tintagel at 10:30 back in SW London at 21:15. I was only off the road for an hour - 10 hours to do just over 300 miles. Never again on bank holiday

It’s nice to read about your use of the van though, after your auto box troubles. Keep smiling.

Too soon mate. Going back in next Monday. On the way home, it kept sticking in second and a really big jolt putting it in reverse. I suppose Cornwall found the issues quicker than pootling around London would have done

At least this garage hasn't washed their hands of it unlike Harry Harpics
