I have a 1983 T25 2 ltr petrol van, and today i opened the sliding door as per normal but now it wont shut!! The sliding door rear catch mechanism ( i think its called) is stuck open, so when i try to shut the door it wont rotate to seal the door shut. Unfortunately i can't remove the lock unless it is in the closed position. Does anyone have any ideas why it would be stuck open, how to unstick it or anything else. Have tried squirting it with wd40 but it wont turn.

Remove the C Pillar locking bar with a spanner. It will allow you access to lock from inside. Or try to prise open latch with a flat tipped screwdriver
