know any one with a welder who can tack the plug to the plug key or make up a key from nut and bolt save damaging the plug key

if all fails turn the van upside down to refill with oil... :) sorry... I did read on a post the other day saying how important it was to make sure you can undo that top one before letting out the oil.. I am beggining to regret not changing the gear oil when the gearbox was on my patio now...

u probalbly did this but jus to check.
Clean out ur hex hole in the plug wit a little screwdriver and usin a good quality 1/2" drive hex bit tappy tap it in wit a hammer. they normally go in further and its that little bit extra that often counts.
if that dont work or u think it wont, liberal coatin of plus gas, leave for a few hours and repeat.....ect.
If all else fails is time to get the heat on it. or if u have it that new Co2 freezy stuff. if ur heatin gently warm up round the plug to expand it. If freezing, freeze the plug itself.
Mine was a complete fatherless pig dog to get undone and i nearly gave myself a hernier  . But was well worth it as the box was well down on oil.
If none of them work try standin 10 yards away and unleashing all the abusive names u know at it. Doesnt help but makes u feel better :)

An remember i never said use a chisel on it. It works sumtimes, but makes 1 hell of a mess to put right if it doesnt.

I got one out by pushing socket end with foot, get some one to hold it in place while you apply the force lying on your back under the engine.

I have removed 3 (all stuck!) with an impact screwdriver which happened to have the correct allen bolt socket in it, cost about £10. I only hit it moderatley tho as it is an alloy casing and over bashing may have bust it somehow knowing my luck..
