Replaced a cracked cylinder but she still leaks coolant??

Hey guys, She’s my first t25 so I’m on a massive learning curve.

Had one of my cylinder heads replaced (previous one cracked due to an overheating issue, neither myself or the mechanic know why).

Bought the engine gasket set from just Kampers (good or bad idea?). Have come to understand that brickworks and vwheritage parts are more reliable. I hate the idea of buying cheap crappy parts and want to do things right.

Anyway I’ve only had her home a day and was giving her a look over when I saw a very slow coolant leak coming from the same place as before but only 1 drip every 2 mins or so.

The rocker covers look a bit oily and I’m not sure if the jk gasket set is good enough, silicone gaskets better than cork?

is it normal to have some coolant and/or oil leak from these engines?

As always, any help is appreciated

Cheers
Lewis

Try to take a photo of the coolant leak location for some advice here on what's going on.

The rocker cover tends to get oily. Use a bit of grease on the cork gasket to stop it dripping oil from the front lower corner..

Who fitted the head and did they use Dirko or sealant both sides of the water jacket seal?

Haynes shows only one side and many people make this mistake.
