Rear LH brake drum noise and overheating

Before my recent MOT I replaced both sets of the rear brake linings and adjusted all round and checked Handbrake; MOT passed.
However, after driving a few thousand miles trouble free I now experience an occasional 'humming' from the LH Rear brake drum after a 20km drive and the Brake Drum gets very hot ( the brake ling must be contacting the drum !) If, when this happens, I dab the foot brake pedal the 'humming stops' for a period of time but then returns minutes later. I can create the same scenario if I yank quickly on the Handbrake whilst driving !??

I have since opened up the LH Rear brake drum and cleaned out accumulated dust and the linings, springs etc all look good as new ! I have also slackened off the adjuster ( more than the RH ) BUT the 'humming' and heated Brake Drum still reoccurs !!!! ?????

Any ideas of what steps to take next to overcome this issue much appreciated :ok

I would check that all the springs are correctly fitted as it's quite easy to get a couple of them wrong.

also if you bought any new parts I found replacement hold down pins that where too long from JK and made the brake shoes sit oddly

should be as per pic

possibly easier with coloured springs :ok

Check the wheel bearings for play too.

Can I be the first to ask where you can buy coloured brake springs :rofl
