late clocks into early T25 DOPS delete?

Hi Guys
A while ago I fitted later clocks into my 84 DG
I now have the buzzer of doom board in my speedo and flashing oil light
but only have a single oil pressure switch and associated wiring.
read on US forum that I now only have a functioning oil light under 2000 rpm.
Can I mod the system to give me back the old oil pressure light (Non flashing)
I have messaged Chris (CJH) to buy a kit but no answer after weeks so that option is now dead.
Regards
Rick

fit an oil pressure guage and silence the Buzzer

he just said, he has a early engine, so no second sender .
fitting a scary gauge wont silence anything because the BoD is looking for a input from the second sender ,
either removing the tacho signal or taking the second sender wire to earth will iirc

I have good oil pressure
I just want a normal oil light instead of flashing dops oil light
I dont get any alarms
Only want to know how to mod it to work
From memory remove dops board and joil pin1 and pin4 and bingo
Just hoped someone would remember

I never said he had a second sender, silence the buzzer is what I said but it appears that's not needed ( probably no tacho signal)

Sorry I don't know.

Basically join the 2 oil warning systems together, black blue is the colour of one wire off the top of my head, don’t remember the other

Lol
nobody has read the first post
my van is early with one wire only
I don't have any oil pressure issues.
I do have a tach signal etc etc
CJH is the only person that will know but he's not about anymore

You can add a resistor into the DOPS socket as shown if you want to revert to the earlier direct oil pressure switch control of the Oil LED, values between 1K and 2.2K will be fine.

You might as well remove the DOPS board if not needed. The DOPS has two parts to its function, one for the normal oil pressure switch and the other is for the 2nd oil pressure switch and Audible warning system. You could modify the DOPS PCB by grounding one of the pins to replicate the second oil pressure switch to prevent the buzzer sounding. The normal Oil pressure LED will still function as normal as this is independednt of the second warning circuit. let me know if you want details.

.......Values between 1.5k and 2.2k should be fine for the standard brightness LEDs used by VW, Some high brightness LEDs could use higher values up to 10k. Alternatively, if you want a flashing led then just buy a 12v Flashing Red Led and use a wire link instead of the resistor.
A lot of resistors sold these days have very thin leads, just fold the ends to give a little more grip n the socket or get 1/4 watt types which have thicker leads as shown in the pic I posted.
I can send you some if you want........

added the resistor as shown and all working as per my old instrument cluster.
I wanted to do this as my van doesn't have the high pressure oil switch
this means my oil lamp only functions up to 2000 rpm if the buzzer board is connected
Thanks Angelo
