Lower Ball Joint

Here we go, I have a vague recollection that the lower ball joints on a 2wd T3 look like they are worn out when you jack up the van on the bottom wishbone, ie it becomes uncompressed, so when you remove the jack, it all squeezes back up together. Due for mot and noticed the movement yesterday so not sure if I need new ball joints. Everything feels good on the road, its just this issue . My hayes manual is useless and I havnt a bentley to consult. I think the syncro has the same lower ball joints?

I would think if there movement in the joint they need replacement , the mot chap im sure will take the same view .

getting the old ones out is fairly straight forward big hammer over the vise . Getting the new ones in more of an issue , i did purchase a manual press when i did mine , but ended up poping to a local garage who pressed them in for me for £10 as i remember

All sorted top and bottom joint . Pressing the new bottom joints was a problem but found someone who knows old vw's and he did it for me.
