SOLVED - What's this exhaust part? (JK Stainless)

Am I missing something obvious? Can't see what these two parts are for and feeling quite dim...

Can't say for certain but looks like it could be a rudamentary clamp on heat exchanger for the warm air feed for carb. General consensus is that its not really needed with UK temps so can be omitted.

Glad to know it's not something important.
So I've managed to shear 2 studs. One I should manage to get out, the other is going to be a pita. I've cut all the pipes off to give better access to them. All part and parcel with a 30+ year old van though. Putting the new one on should be a breeze compared to this!

Just got one of these stainless exhausts myself to fit next weekend so looking forward to hopefully not shearing any bolts

The official party line is "They're warm air pick up tubes to help reduce carb icing for 1.9 carb models. If you have a 2.1 injection, you don't need them."
