The CV-900 alloy wheels

I have just been reading a very interesting article on syncro .org on the subject of a very nice alloy that fits straight onto our vans without any modification, as I was getting to the end of the article and getting quite excited about the prospect of ordering myself a set sometime this year I find that the article was written in 2002 and there was only 48 of them bought as a bulk order. Does anybody know of the CV-900 alloys and whether they are still available? Is there anybody got a set? I have included the link ( I think) give us your thoughts.

I think i am right in saying one set of these came to the uk about three years ago. Exchange rate is better now but you will still have to pay shipping and import taxes so it wont be cheap. Clive (Harryman) may recall who it was that bought them.

The usp of these rims was that they were 16 inch and fitted a syncro 14 if i recall ?

The perfect 16" Rim, Derek Drew reckons. But you pay for it... load rating is what you are paying for and a reasonable wieght.

I can't remember exactly, Aidan knows him, I know that much

These rims are still made in large numbers for a large variety of heavy vehicles.
They are made in europe so there is no inport duty on them.
The stud patern and offset is machined according to application.
They work out at about £110 each and they dont fit the original VW spare wheel carrier.(even though they are said to)
I do have the name of the manufacturer somewere but for the general public it will cost u the same (with more legwork)as ordering them from Derik.Takes aprox 4 weeks for delivery.

Thanks for that Russel. I should of just asked you this question when I was in on Wednesday. When you say that they do not fit onto the spare wheel carrier, can this be rectified for as you know I have a double wheel carrier.

Yes u can modify the wheel carrier.

Unfortunatly the ones u have the Ebay link to are the wrong width and offset. They are 8 wide whereas the ones suitable for the syncro are 6.5 wide and the offset on these is 20 as to the reqired 32.
These also seem to have a lower load rating even though they are buy the same manurfacturer.
