Does anyone here know what the difference is between the following two Idle Cut off Valves..

My 2.0 Air-cooled CU started playing up the other day and I found it to be one of these valves so I bought a new one, but when I went to fit it I noticed that on the engine were the 058-129-413/D Which, as far as I can see, are the ones for the smaller engined beetles that use a 30 PICT
Mine is running the standard Solex PDSIT 32/34's
Now the engine has one of each on it it is running back like it was, but it hasn't got a lot of guts (it never has though) So I was just wondering if I should replace the other old one for the correct one and if I did would I notice any difference?

Apart from the cut off, it is also the idling jet, size g52.5 for the twin carb and larger g55 for the single carb (it has to supply four cylinders). The 1700/1800 Bay window engines used a smaller g50 jet, check you have not had one of them fitted previously, anything can have been done to these vans over the years. The size is marked on the jet.

This makes sense, I've just been googling and found the same, that the "E" is G52.5 and the "D" is G55 (these are what has been previously fitted). The van idles fine, a little high maybe but never stalls or has problems in that department, obviously, it would be wise then to change the other one for the correct one but they aren't cheap and would this make a difference to the overall running of the engine in your opinion?

More to the fuel consumption. Even though it is an idling jet it is combined with the main jet when the throttle is open.
