Don’t bother and upgrade your battery to starter cable instead. A hot start issue is caused by the starter having to Work harder to compress warm induction air to a sufficient pressure for starting. A new cable will improve current flow to the starter and allow it to turn faster, if it’s not knackered and gettting slower anyway. Search the wiki for more info, CovKid has posted extensively on the subject of weak, old electrics.
You can test the theory by using a jump lead from battery to the main stud on the solenoid , not the starter motor, and trying to start with the key.

By all means upgrade your battery cable, but fit the hard start too as it alleviates the current from your ignition key circuit

Fair point, I forgot it runs full power through the ignition switch too.
