Hi

Just a quick question, might be considered a daft one so apolagies in advance.

I went to give my van a start and roll it about a bit as its been in storage since september for the winter. Once i had hooked up the battery it fired straight up.

I let it warm up a while and moved it back and forth a bit just to see if everything was still moving which it was.
But whilst the engine was ticking over it was making a clicking / ticking noise that speeded up with more throttle. I dont remember it doing this last summer.

Any clues as to what this might be or am i over thinking it?

Cant wait to get the flipping thing back out for spring!!

Sounds like tappets ,oil not getting to them quick enough.learnt this lesson with mine not using it for months ,now I use it at least once a week .

Hydraulic tappets drain down when the engine is not used.

From cold it can take up to 15 mins for the noise to disappear as the tappets fill with oil.
