put simply install a second battery some prefer to use leisure bats other just use standard car bat if you look in the wiki(see menu top of page) you will get all the info you need for split charge Zigs etc. if you have a diesel its possible to fit a second battery behind the rh rear light cluster in the engine bay if not then under the passenger seat is the most common place finding a leisure bat to fit may be a bit of chore hence why people use standard bat, really depends what you intend to run off it.

You could just buy a small £50 genorater and plug it into 240 point if you didnt want to mess about with wiring in a leisure battery or do both

Have you looked under the seats to see if battery terminals are there?

Air cooled engines are usually 1.6 CT or 2.0 CU.

Normally 2.0 CV engines were fitted in fuel injected form to vehicles exported to the U.S.A. ...but V.A.G. did sell replacement engines in the U.K. which were 2.0 CV twin carb versions. My previous van (1980) had a 1988 CV engine fitted. :)

Hi Chaps :D

If you are thinking of a genny, I just used mine at Dubfreeze for the weekend, worked well, couple of niggles but OK. Cost £33 from B&Q, don't know if they still have any. 91Db, ok on lead/soundproofing, not as loud as implied, cheap & cheerful.

PM me if you want further info,
Myk.
