Hi all .. unfortunately my camper failed its yearly test on "Excessive play in rear nearside wheel bearing " Prior to the test I replaced the bearings due to play
between 12 & 6 little or nothing between 3 & 9 on the wheel .. I have looked online for replacement housings the only place I found selling them is Burley motorsports USA
Any suggestion will be welcome
Cheers Ian

To my mind it was very little movement but there was movement... not much I could do as he failed and put it down as major fail item , in red no less .. I'm very tempted with your way of thinking... only flaw being not sure I could bear all the stripping if the movement returned ... mmmmmhhh

Ok .. I'll Jack the van up tomorrow and get a feel for the wheel that passed , just to see what is movement and how much, that will then help me decide what method to use .. New or glue
Cheers lads

Thanks for your offer David , I'll see how I get on with bearing replacement with some Granville bearing fit : I jacked up the camper to see what the bearing play was
between 12 & 6 a bit not much , the other side was bad on reflection ... As always thanks for the helpful input , its back to men in sheds tinkering with footy on the wireless..

Hey all ... the camper is back on the road , got new bearings & a small bottle of bearing fit , thanks for that tip ... bolted every thing up checked for play all good
went for a test run , on my return recheck for any excessive play .. narr perfect . it was a good bit of work but well worth it simply for the piece of mind
another job done ... re test Thursday

good work, did mine today also... hardest bit was getting the circlip in, esp when you dont have the right tools

Got lucky with cir clip , fella has a stall in my local market selling old spanners an stuff, saw a old rusty looking pair of pliers they cleaned up well .. Sat in my garage for years, only used them twice on the bearings.. Been thinking about grease the last time I packed the bearings I simply used what I had to hand , this time I bought some stuff called Long duration grease for bearings with high load operating conditions .
Temp range from -30 to +120 the grease was strange kinda stringy coloured blue , time will tell if its worth the extra dosh
