Replacing the Eberspacher with electric warm air heater

Hi
Has anybody replaced the eberspacher on a Westy Joker with a 240V hot air blower-type heater for use when on hook-up?
Any thoughts on ventilation (?through the Ebby vent pipes?)
Cheers
M

I added a 240v heater to mine as well as the propex so I'm not wasting gas when on hook-up.
I bought a cheap fan heater, pulled the guts out of it and fitted it under the bed.
I cut out a rectangular hole in the front of the bed locker and used the grill from the heater to keep fingers/dogs noses out of it.
I also made a metal box to cover the back of the heater on the inside, also with a vent grill.
Be very careful if you do this as the ceramic element in the heater is live so fit the covers before you turn it on and don't poke your fingers in.

Steve (RIP) at Gasure fitted me with a propex that used the west gas tank on my first westy, worked a treat

Just update your Eberspächer with a Webasto diesel heater, then you aren't restricted to trailing a 100 mile long power cable.

Thanks guys - Propex and Webasto might be a tad expensive right now.
We currently use a plug in fan heater but i'd like something a bit more fitted think i'm going to look into a plinth heater.
I'll let you know

What’s wrong with your eberspacher, they are miles better than a propex

It's a picture of a Webasto kit not Propex!

I've got one off oldie. Nice and toasty. Only complaint is they can be a bit noisy (fan) although you get used to it. Just enjoying the quiet more as I get older

They are Eberspächer not Eberspatcher!
It depends upon what heater you have in there, AFAIK the D2L/B2L was only fitted to the T3 vans - it was designed for them. You will have to ascertain what heater it is that you have got fitted first then I would have a better idea as to what you need.

Thanks for the reply I will need to have a look all I know its petrol with digital controller timer on the dash and also an on of switch in the rear off the van with manual dial for temperature control the heater is under the van in a metal box . Its a factory multi van from 1995 petrol all looks as if factory fitted or at least by westfalia.
