Eberspacher fault codes

Hi,

We have had a recurring issue with our diesel Eber. It starts fine and runs up, getting nice and warm with plenty of oomph, but after 5 mins the flame goes out and it shuts down. The timer keeps running but the heater powers down. After a second start, it used to work and run normally, but not anymore. It does the same thing after a few minutes.

It’s installed under the bed, but there’s loads of ventilation and the inlet and exhaust are clear. The batteries combined capacity is 150ah and are in good order, kept topped up by solar.

Codes:

AF: 071
F1: 071
F2: 014
F3: 052
F4: 011

Any idea what the issue is and how to fix it?

E D I T: I have found a list of codes on line and it looks like the overheat sensor may have packed up. Is this something I can fix myself and can I do,it with the heater in situ?

It’s a D2 diesel IIRC.

Have you got a copy of the manual?
All the faults point to the combined overheat/temp sensor. 071 is open circuit which could just be that the sensor has come unplugged. If not that its resistance will need checking as per the manual.
Cheapest price on ebay for a new one is £43 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Eberspacher- ... .l4275.c10 but not available until 3rd Nov. Usually more like £50.

No, I only have the manual for the timer / controller. I guess I’ll have to have it out and have a look. :(

Send me your email address and I will send you a copy of the manual.
You don't need to remove the heater, just the access panel.
