Matt's top tip o the day no 1 ....
1 - when converting a t25 to Subaru power - don't wait until 5am to realise .... 3 days after bolting up the engine and transmission to remember that you didn't put that small spacer behind the input shaft bearing to stop the larger dia inner race bottoming out on the flywheel ======== or else, you will need to find the spacer at 5am in garage, get the engine back out from under the van - separate the gearbox - remove flywheel, clutch plate, and drift out the input shaft bearing - insert the spacer , and reverse the procedure

I had something similar years ago after changing the engine on my younger brothers mini, I was an A35 enthusiast so not used these front wheel drive things, I went to replace the distributor cap and leads and found what I thought was a black lid from an aerosol can, turns out it was the clutch release bearing!
Fortunately with mini's you can remove the clutch casing from the side and just about get your hand in to replace it

Put the sump plug in first!!!
Numbskull of a neighbour didn't last week, resulting in a big puddle of oil all across the footpath and road. I laughed my little socks off at that.

Oh.....
Tip no - 2 -
And don't get your inlet and outlet pipes mixed up at the radiator end
Causes all sorts of confusion when trying to work out why cooling system isn't playing nicely .
saying they cross over half way under the van isn't an excuse if you do connect the pipes wrong way round.
of course..... i wouldn't make such a silly mistake myself...

Running very well and Yes cleared persistent error codes
Mainly due to unconnected plugs and vac pipes,
Cleaned up the IACV thing.
better....but throws up the odd check engine light on overrun - usually going downhill (braking) - and ticker occasionally goes down to 500 rpm - but revcovers/occasionally cuts out
looking on subaru forums it looks a common, but easily fixable fault -
Might replace the iacv just for peace of mind anyway.
Very pleased with conversion , though I still have alot of final fix jobs, to make it look neat and well finished
