Time to change the gearbox oil?

Not had our van long, so I have no idea when the gearbox oil was done if at all. So I've probably answered my own question here, and I'll just change it so I know it's done.

However, I've noticed with the colder weather 2nd is getting a little tricky when cold. After about 5 minutes it's all good. Is this a symptom of the gearbox oil needing a change, or a sign of something else?

Like I say once all warmed up the gear change is pretty good.

Yup, change the oil. Not used it but some like to add molyslip.

Be prepared for the stench when you drain the oil and make sure that you can undo the filler nut first! Oil should then be changed every 3 years.

I seem to remember Aidan posting that originally VW did not specify an oil change for it at all!

I’m fairly sure it’s a mileage based change (3 years ago and not really left the drive much)

I think from memory Aidan wrote VW say the gearbox oil will last the lifetime of the vehicle, 10 years, and then you're expected to get a T4. Otherwise regularly changing the oil, every 3 years, is recommended.

Ok I need to change the oil, cheers for the help guys appreciate it.
