AAZ 1.9 TD occasional cut out ?

I have been on the road for 12000km plus without any engine problems touring Europe, until recently. Tricky to describe the cutting out fault, however, after start up from hot (only on two occasions in the last two weeks or so ! ) drive a few hundred yards and the engine 'cuts out' momentarily then drives, then 'cuts out again' momentarily (blips on the accelerator didnt seem to improve matters but then the fault would disappear!
Could it be a stop solenoid problem ? Or its electrical supply ?

Its a AAZ 1.9 TD rebuilt in 2017 so very young ! fitted in a 1987 T3 :ok

My first thought is air in the fuel supply. Sounds like it could be a tiny, tiny air leak, possibly caused by a dirty fuel filter creating a lower than usual pressure in the line between pump and filter. Microscopic air bubbles will work their way through the system and self-purge whilst driving, but when stopped they rise and join together in the pump or line to form a bigger bubble - big enough to cause a stalling event. It'll then restart after a couple of goes and drive normally.

That's a lot of driving in Gib, you must have been going round in circles all the time. :rofl
I hope you have been running the heater monthly whilst you have been basking in the sun.
