Took gearbox out today and found the welds had broke on one of the forks,is there any reason why I couldn't just weld it back on and save £80.

Yep get them welded up, fully welding the forks is recommended when doing a Subaru conversion. Its something that every one should do .

Unfortunately only a 1900dg,can't believe they only put 2 tacks on each .will fully weld them both at work.thanks for reply.
