tailgate not closing properly

hi all im after some help please the tailgate on betty are 1.9dg high top isnt closing properly after it as removed for some work does anyone know if there is any adjustment and if so where..her tailgate closed fine before being removed. its all most as if it is just slightly out of aliment on the lock striker (striker has not be removed)

You have to slacken the 4 screws in the hinges, that will allow you to adjust the position of the tailgate.

You will need arms like Popeye or Clyde though!
Worth just checking first that the seals are all fully home first as they would prevent easy closing.

hi again thanks for that checked the seals so looks like its spinach for breakfast followed by a right turn
is it worth dropping the struts off or will that make it harder due to added weight

The struts take the weight, you wouldn't achieve anything by taking them off.
