Pop top warning

We are on our travels in France, happily driving on a D road 50 -60 mph, big lorry comes the other way. Bang and our roof is half up. The air pressure of the lorry passing had popped the 36 year old rivets that hold the roof clips on. Both rivets corroded almost through. Luckily no damage and I found the clip in the road, secured the roof with a length of para cord round the roof and through the cab. So check your rivets, prob replace ours with some st steel nuts and bolts.

Weĺl, after a trip to the local Brico, bought some M5 bolts, nuts and penny washers and a 5.5mm driĺl bit and a loan of a drill from the campsite, aĺl are replaced.
The rivets that hold the back end of the pop top had all but corroded through, a light tap and the bracket came off.
All fixed now :ok I

Glad you got sorted. A similar thing happened to us a couple of years ago.
