Hi, I've just bought a big pile of assorted spares for a T25 which included a "working fine when I took it out of the van" 5spd box for a 1.9WBX. Is there any way to check that it is ok before I get it put in to the van??

Cheers

Not really 100%

Can move selector into all gears and ensure they select, can sometimes tell there's trouble ahead if its sloppy into one or two, but too easy to draw wrong conclusions unless you have doen this to a dozen good boxes so you know what to expect.

Draining it over a magnet or sieve or both, will show bronze, ally or steel particles, bits. Some fine particles good, chips or lumps bad. Refill before installing
