In trying to sort out some rogue wiring on a recently purchased non runner. On the 2E3 carb there are some points in need of extra wiring....please view photo
NO 1. BY PASS CUT OF VALVE. Black circle with spade connector..
According to Haynes it should be earthed to left wall engine bay? Is that correct?
NO 2. PART LOAD DUCT HEATER. White oblong connector. This is new to me and shown in Haynes on page 4A.9... yet not listed in key for wiring diagrams on page 12.16/17. What goes where please
Regards
Stuart

VW did it two ways
Early models the bypass cut off valve is connected to the ignition switched circuit. The choke, part load heater are connected to the manifold heater circuit.
Later models the choke is connected to the ignition circuit.

all late vans including mine that I have seen wired like this, I think in Haynes from memory choke is on thermoswitched circuit but not in reality on late vans

Okay and thanks to both. My manual is not so detailed.
lm getting confused.
According to my haynes manual cut off valve is purely earthed left chasis? Number 12
Also l thought carb had a earth wire either to bolt on manifold or connector to dizzy?
