corrosion inside insulation

ok chaps.

Went to fit the chicken switch. I'm working on the wires down by the radiator as I looked behind my fuse box and thought I could actually kill the van if I started fiddling there.

so...I cut into the power cable that looked ok from the outside...and inside its full of green powder...???

does this mean this wire is on the way out and I should replace.

I know that it may not be waterproof here..but at the moment I am more concerned about the green stuff :-(

As always, any advice greatly appreciated

Copper has corroded away - will need replacing.

... and where it isn't green it'll be black before you get back to good copper
