Driving along in the torrential rain. lights on buzzer comes on and no wipers unless I hold full beam on. Ignition switch again I think. I seem to go through one every few months. Is there a common fault that would cause this?

Having heavy key rings or lots of keys on same ring as ignition key can cause wear.

Where are switches coming from?
I wonder if you have something taking high current when running thats not fused
not enough to melt wires but enough to degrade the switch, alternator would provide the power so no flat battery

need to do.some current measurements to rule that out.

Switches are Brickwerks. Fitted it today and one of the pins was bent, (I'd seen this before and at the time thought I must have fitted it incorrectly) so I reckon the barrell must have something wrong with it. Elite lost the keys once and had to fit new lock and ignition so perhaps it was damaged.
