I need to replace the hard brake lines on a bus.

What sort of brake line should I buy? - size and type, if you would.

What's the spec of the unions the T25 uses?

Where's the best place to get the pipes and unions?

Where's the best place to get a flaring set?

Is there anything else I need?

I looked into this some time ago and it wasn't really worth the bother, there is a company (possibley bus stop or something similar!!!) and they sell the whole set all made up for £80.

I will try and find a link... the company was at vanfest this year selling the kits and goodridge braided hoses!

it has been a while since I enquired so give em a ring.

They have copper lines made up but they can do a set of nickel/copper lines in a couple of days.

If you don't want to get them made up and insist on a kit then Frost Auto do them, www.frost.co.uk I had the metric kit from them, more than enough fittings and copper/nickel pipe to make up enough for several vans or you could contact Si Baxter, I think he had some made up kits too.

Given that the Bus Station only do them in copper I've gone for a kit from Frosts, with copper-nickel hose.

Fair price and helpful.

Also going for hoses from the Brickwerks. Should stop well when done!

If I had of known you were going to get some mail order i could of got you a couple of rolls in and some ends and posted them on!
It over the counter stuff at your local motor factor, nothing out of the ordinary 3/16ths or 4.75mm (same thing) and the ends are M10x1 male, just standard metric male ends.
You package was sent this morning, the 6th Dec and should be with you on the 7th dec.
Im not a fan of copper lines, too soft, looks crap after a few weeks, all green and cheap looking, I prefer kunifer(Copper/Nickel alloy) much tougher and harder wearing and doesn't look so naff after a month or so. Bends so much nicer than copper too with the right tools

Or if you cant be arsed to make them... get a kit from GSF etc for a T2 and use whatever fits.. very cheap and surprising how many parts fit..

OK, so steel, but wont have to bother with them for several years.. specially if you brush on some waxoil... worked a treat on the green monster.. only ones I made were for the short ones on the calipers
