My front opening 1/4 lights whistle like mad when I get to about 45-50 onwards. Not tot bad around town, but on any sort of high speed trip-well, when I say high speed I mean just a bit quicker than I can run-it constantly whistles from them. Other than siliconing them up or putting vaseline round them, any ideas? I did see some whistle strips on Ebay a few weeks ago being sold by Lovedabus but I couldn't work out where they were for or if that's just what he calls them.The rubber seems ok on mine, not split or anything, just a bit hard.

Note that you have an air duct through the bottom of the doors, that takes air from the blower into the rear cabin, you may / should have a small blue coloured slider on the inside rear of the front doors, that opens and closes the outlet from the door. Westy camper has one door like this, the other has a different arrangment on the sliding door side (offside as Westy is left-hand drive)

OK, here it is from Bentley:

check and adjust the fit of the door first, panel gap all round.
check fit of door seal at area over the window guide, the area shown is the top 6" before the door angles down to the quarter light, and the 6" down the door frame over the quarter light.

check for secure fit of quarter light, if you have opening q/lights

check overlap of the window guide seal and the window channel, top corner area where the window winds up to, the corners each side.

door retaining metal strap, should have a rubber seal round it.

door seal where the speaker cables etc come through from the body to the door interior, foam rubber seal there.

window winder seal to the door card.

remove door card and check the plastic film cover for holes.

Thanks. I think! Cheers, yeah I have a Westy poptop, so I'll check all the above out. I don't have a roof seal though so that can't be helping either. I'll be making that call to JK on payday to get me one, and I'll try out the other stuff too. Hopefully it'll work as my stereo just won't go any louder!

Mine do`nt whistel, and it`s not got anything fancy done to it, `specially some special, rare, hard-to find, carat, caravelle, supa-van type rubber strips from that clown Lovedabus.

I don't even know where those strips are supposed to go! There is no rubber seal around my door retaining straps, or speaker wire and the vent through the door to the back is blocked off on the drivers side because of the kitchen units behind me. But there is a great big gap between the front edge of the glass and the rubber of maybe 5mm. Although it doesn't look damaged I guess it must have shrank a bit. Oh well, a new set of 1/4 light rubbers for both sides then. Time to remortgage I think!
