Engine refusing to start!

Hi guys. I’ve an early ej22 in my van and yesterday morning it decided to play dead on me! Gets lights on the dashpod, the radio working and the lights on the van but when I turn the ignition there’s nothing. Before Christmas it was sometimes taking 2/3 turns to get going but it’s been ok recently.
Given the battery a good charge so eliminated that. No expert and have a guy coming to take a look but by his own admission he’s no expert on concerted vans.
Is there anything in particular it could be that is specific to these conversions? Will obviously begin with a check if the starter motor and fuel pump.
Radio and lights stay on and running when I turn the key whereas normally they cut out momentarily when the engine fires. Water had also run pretty low (has always dropped quickly) but I can’t see how this could be a contributing factor.
