Radio Aerials

Has anyone come across or used an internal aerial for a AM/FM radio?
My current pillar aerial gets in the way of the screen cover. I could fit a retractable one (the one that drops down behind the headlight) but thought an internal one behind the grille might work and saves drilling holes.
We do not use the radio when travelling only when stationary.

I fitted an internal type that has a signal booster included and requires a 12v supply. I tried various locations including at the top of the windscreen but reception was never as good as the external type.

In the end I separated the aerial part and mounted it onto the side of my Hi Top, just above the passenger door, then ran a very thin wire to the booster amp down and under the door seal and into the cab. Works much better but not the ideal solution.

Will be interesting to see if anyone can recommend one that actually works as well as a external type but, for the same reason as yours, I don't want an external type.
