Hi All,

Some tips required for this.

My garage has recommended a fuel tank change due to the usual problem of eroded tank and filler pipes. Something I've known about for a while, may as well get the lines replaced at the same time.

Where is the best place to source these? I have access to a trade account at Just Kampers, so i should go there to save money, are they as bad as people say on here?

Does anyone suggest any other things to have checked over whist they are in there?

Get yourself over to the Brickwerks pages - they do all the parts that you need and they all fit unlike the tat that you can get from Just Krap.

If you are changing the tank I would also do:

The fuel filler neck (or at least have a good look at it),
The tank vent pipes and grommets, along with the small pipes that go up to the expansion tanks.

Don't forget to paint/protect the tank before you install it.
Have look at the the general condition of the piping, cables, bodywork above the tank.

We had ours done last year. Got everything from brickwerks. Before taking it to be changed I painted the tank in two coats of rustolum Combie colour. If you look on the wiki it will give you information on which fuel lines to buy as there are some like in most cases that are not as good quality. It's a very important job so make sure you get the best

Thanks for the tips Team, had already read the wiki and the Brickwerk's pages. Will be going to Brickwerks despite the trade price at JK.

I bought the best value tank I could find, as the tanks appear to be pretty much the same quality regardless of supplier.. def go brickworks for fuel lines..
Paint the tank for sure.
Filler neck again all seemed of similar quality.
Change seal grommets on the tank.
Use the old level sender seal if possible as they are better than the new ones imo
Check handbrake cable and pipes when the tank is out.
I also patched a couple of rust areas also.
Bit fiddly to refit, mainly due to breather pipes above, but possible with patience..!
