The old van just failed its MOT due to broken rear springs. 1985 1.9DG wbx high top.

Should I take this opportunity to lower the van by 30mm or so? Will this make much difference or should I just stick to standard height springs? Thinking of replacing dampers all round at the same time, hoping to improve the ride. I find the colour coding thing a bit confusing as well.

Any helpful advise appreciated.

Lowering 30 mm is a good height , the higher spec vans are this height as standard. Visually it may not look much different to a van with old springs due to sagging but if you put new full height springs back on it would sit up high again. Don't be tempted to go lower than 30 though, you may find the ride a bit harsh.
