Hi All, im looking at making a table for Elly as the one I have is kinda oval shape and rolls about when not in use, what do you people use and where do you store in when no tin use.

I bought a sequoia table leg system off eBay and a skim board from a autojumble. Really easy to fix together and mount in van if you have plywood floor like mine. When not required, it lives in overhead cupboard above rear seat, as van is a tintop.

I use a folding drum stool stand for legs, put the table where you fancy, a lot better engineered than the fiamma tripods.

I made a top for mine using plywood clad with laminate flooring.
It could do with some edging round the... errr... edge, haha.
I store it and the leg under the bench seat when not in use.

This company will cut their table to any size you require. Lots of colour combos. Comes with excellent edging strip, mounting bar and leg. I took the side panel off and riveted a 50mm steel strip between the b & c pillars, added some riv nuts to it and fixed mounting bar back through side panel. Stores neatly too.

here is my table , the car on it is my 500 horse power Subaru lol ,, it gets stored behind the drivers seat as it sits between the seat and the sink area and doesn't move around when there

I can't decide between the sequoia table leg and the sliding rail type.....
Sequoia would be more stable I'm guessing and you can choose size and shape of yoir table. Sliding rail handy if you had your drivers seat on a swivel...

I've always found using these tables impractical inside the van as once they are up, they restrict your movement too much . We have a small buddy box type thing (holds loads of frequently used stuff, maps, lights, magazines, gas bottle etc) and we just flip the lid over, the box can be pushed around and located where you want it.
We also have a small 800x300 camping table which store behind the drivers seat for use outdoors or indoors if required.

In the stowed position does it swing around or is it secured somehow? And in the table position if you kicked the leg would it collapse?

Sequoia can be swiveled round to let you move around easier, but then sliding rail can be slid to achieve the same thing, six and two threes I guess.

The weight of the table is sufficient, it stays put. The leg has a cam so it locks into position.

Three cheers for those that don't need the ridiculous hole in the floor to accept the table leg. Buy the right leg and it is not required at all.
