New tank to go in, couple of questions..
The ‘breather’ that goes from the main filler pipe to the top of the tank is cracked..
Can’t seem to find any online, so presume to replace with normal fuel pipe.. anyone done the same?
Does anyone have any tips for fitting the two upper breather pipes to the tank? The ones that sit above the coolant pipes and handbrake etc?? Looks like you need to fit when the tank is nearly in its final position which means there will be virtually no access!!

Not a nice job :(

About to do this myself after sorting out steering hub

Is this what you mean??

https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/t3-parts/e ... l-2wd.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

good write up here also

https://vwt25.blog/2016/05/03/replacing-the-fuel-tank/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My understanding is you push it in once the tank is back in place, which is pretty auckward but do-able

Let me know how you get on

I've just replaced the breather which goes across top of tank. First put a smear of vaseline on the grommets , then when tank is in place reach through wheel arch and push pipe connector into grommet . Even if you can't see what you're doing , you'll be able to feel it.
As for the cracked breather it should be ok to join with flexible fuel hose'
